Mobile Walmart expected to reopen after freezer fire (mynbc15.com) — A Walmart on the I-65 Service Road in Mobile is set to reopen Tuesday after a freezer motor fire filled the store with smoke Sunday afternoon. Mobile Fire-Rescue quickly contained the accidental blaze, no one was hurt, and customers were still able to access prescription refills through curbside pickup while the store was closed.

Mobile Baykeeper to relaunch water testing program, seeking more volunteers (al.com) — Mobile Baykeeper is restarting its SWIM water-quality testing program on Sept. 11, giving Mobile-area families updated information on where it's safest to swim. Backed by local sponsors, the group is training volunteers to collect samples and is still seeking more community help to expand testing across coastal Alabama.
