Here are the top stories today in Montgomery:

Online retail giant Amazon plans to widen its footprint in Alabama with three new operations facilities and a new fulfillment center in the state, which is ultimately expected to create more than 900 jobs. One of those projects will be the Montgomery Receive Center, an inbound cross-dock facility that will receive and consolidate items from vendors and facilitate shipment to fulfillment centers. This 650,000-square-foot facility is slated to open in 2022 and will provide more than 500 full-time jobs. (Montgomery Patch)
  2. A local woman has been charged after allegedly burglarizing a Montgomery home late last week. Court records say Dejhanti Johnson, 24, broke into a home in the 200 block of Eastdale Road South and assaulted the resident, reportedly punching them in the face and body. She is currently in the Montgomery County Detention Facility. (WSFA 12)
  3. The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office has launched a new program called OpenDoors to help children who have witnessed violent crimes. The program provides trauma therapy and helps children learn to cope with what they've experienced. 4. Governor Kay Ivey is inviting residents and organizations across the state to participate in the inaugural Governor's Christmas Gingerbread House Contest. Any interested parties, including individuals, businesses, community organizations, arts groups, and schools, can register by Saturday, Nov. 27 and must drop off their family-friendly, Alabama-themed gingerbread house by Nov. 29.
