The support strengthens Montgomery Public Schools' career-training programs housed in the former Montgomery Mall, helping local teens earn certifications and college credits that feed directly into high-demand jobs and area employers' workforces.

• Death Sentence Upheld for Man Convicted in 2001 Talladega County Double Murder (abc3340.com) — A major death-penalty appeal handled out of Montgomery has ended with a federal court refusing to overturn the conviction or sentence of an Alabama man in a 2001 Talladega County double murder. The Eleventh Circuit's decision, announced by Attorney General Steve Marshall, leaves the original death sentence in place after years of state and federal review.
