Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:
- Three Montgomery individuals have been arrested on charges related to three separate robberies that occurred across the area. Alicia Brier, 34, has been accused of stealing a 2015 Toyota Camry at gunpoint in the 4400 block of Narrow Lane Road. Desmond Roper, 37, attempted to rob a gas station with a handgun in the 1600 block of Upper Wetumpka Road. Christopher Tyson, 30, was arrested for a robbery that took place in the 2200 block of South Forbes Drive. (WFSA12 News)
- Montgomery basketball team raises funds using a chili cookoff. The Montgomery Fire boys traveling basketball team held a chili cookoff sponsored by the Bell Road YMCA on Saturday. The money raised will be used for equipment, training, and athletic gear for the players. (Alabama News Network)
- The U.S. Supreme Court has put a hold on a lower court's decision regarding Alabama's redrawing of congressional maps. The hold supports Republicans' districting chances to hold six of the state's House of Representatives seats. The vote was a 5-4 decision that will uphold the map that has only one black-majority district. (Alabama News Network)
