Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:
- In solidarity with Ukraine during the Russian invasion, Montgomery City Hall and the Court Square Fountain have been illuminated blue and yellow. The colors are the same colors as the European country's flag and coat of arms. The light installation was requested by Mayor Steven Reed. (WSFA12 News)
- A vehicle crash caused delays for Montgomery commuters on Tuesday morning. The crash occurred at the intersection of Rosa L. Parks Avenue and South Boulevard. According to reports issued by the Alabama Department of Transportation, one vehicle overturned but additional details regarding the crash are being withheld. (WSFA12 News)
- The 2022 regular legislative session in Montgomery is entering into its second half. Lawmakers only have 15 more voting days to debate and approve the legislation. Progress made during the 2022 regular legislative session is split along party lines. Democrats are focused on opposing controversial bills such as permitless concealed carry and anti-riot bills while Republicans are focused on bills that will garner their votes during the upcoming election.
