🌱 Deputy Exposed To Fentanyl + Hall Renamed After Jo Ann Robinson

Good morning, people of Montgomery! Danielle Fallon here with the Wednesday edition of the Montgomery Daily.

Here are the top three stories in Montgomery today:
- The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that its deputy was exposed to fentanyl during a traffic stop. First responders rushed the deputy to a local hospital over the weekend after giving the deputy Narcan. The office has not released the deputy's name to the public. (WSFA12 News)
- Alabama State University has renamed a residence hall after Jo Ann Robinson, a civil rights pioneer involved in the Montgomery Bus Boycott of the 1950s. The Jo Ann Robinson Hall was previously named for Bibb Graves, a former Alabama Governor and member of the Ku Klux Klan. The name change was voted on by the Board of Trustees last September. (Montgomery Advertiser)
- The Montgomery Probate Office will begin assisting the community with processing passport applications. The new service is possible through a partnership with the United States Department of State. Residents can access the new service at the office's east, south, and west locations. (WSFA12 News)

- The Montgomery Area Council On Aging kicked off National Volunteer Week on Monday. Board members will be passing out treats this week to Meals on Wheels drivers to show their appreciation. (Facebook)
