- A traveling art exhibit, now in Alabama, is bringing visitors into the world of low-income renter eviction. "Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City," an immersive exhibit in collaboration with the National Building Museum, is now available to view at the Birmingham Library. The Alabama Center for Architecture has also made a companion piece to the display, which focuses on eviction, housing, and poverty in Alabama's four largest metropolitan areas: Birmingham, Montgomery, Huntsville, and Mobile. - The City of Huntsville invited mayors from Alabama's 10 largest cities on Sunday and Monday to discuss the upcoming legislative session and the recently-passed infrastructure bill, among other topics. The "Big 10 Mayors" group includes Montgomery, Huntsville, Birmingham, Mobile, Tuscaloosa, Hoover, Dothan, Auburn, Decatur, and Madison. (WAAY 31 ABC)
- On Friday, Montgomery police charged 22-year-old Shuronda Anderson with attempted murder in a December shooting. According to officials, the shooting took place around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 18, 2021, in the 1900 block of Mobile Road. The victim was found with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and taken to a local hospital for treatment. (WSFA 12)

- Meet Kook, a Blue-winged kookaburra who lives at the Montgomery Zoo. Kook is one of the Zoo's Education Ambassadors and is available for school sessions, community events, and even birthday parties. (Facebook)
- Amid the omicron surge, hospitals in the Montgomery-Opelika region are essentially out of ICU beds. As of Thursday, there are 12 more patients in need of critical care than there are staffed beds. (AL.com)
