Here are the top three stories in Montgomery today:
- Montgomery Fire/Rescue responds to an overnight fire at a local hotel. The fire occurred at a Days Inn, located at 1185 Eastern Blvd. Crews saw smoke and flames coming from a room on the first floor of the two-story building. - In response to a fatal shooting, Montgomery natives organize a prayer walk. The walk is a tribute to 37-year-old Thomas Hand Jr. who was shot in front of his two-year-old son. The pastor who organized the prayer walk hopes that it brings peach to an area that has seen so much tragedy and violence. (WSFA12 News)
- A bipartisan effort seeks to stop Montgomery citizens from paying taxes on their groceries. This is not the first time the issue has been debated in the statehouse.
