Here are the top stories today in Montgomery:
- Due to bad weather, the "Kwanzaa Walk for Kujichagulia, the Principle of Self Determination" event that was scheduled to be held at the Alabama State Capitol in Montgomery has been rescheduled to a date to be determined. A press conference will be held at the steps of the capitol by several groups including the Save OurSelves Movement for Justice and Democracy, the Alabama New South Coalition, and Black Lives Matter Alabama. - Police are asking the public for help identifying two burglary/thefts suspects who are accused of stealing guns and money from a business. On Dec. 22, the suspects forced their way into a business in the 3800 Block of Harrison Road. The Montgomery Police Department and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers are reaching out to the community in search of their identities. (WSFA)
- In 2020, Alabama was among the top five states with the least loss of tourism revenue. Plans to attract more tourists in 2022 are under wraps, but Lee Sentell, director of Alabama Tourism, says big things are coming. (ABC 11)

- Montgomery Alabama Public Schools recognized Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Washington, Sr. as Catoma Elementary's Very Important Parents for the month of January 2022. The Washingtons are active parents for Catoma Elementary School and often support PTA fundraisers. (Facebook)
- The City of Montgomery has announced the start of the utility relocation phase of a project to bring new sidewalks, paving, and more to West Fairview Avenue. Once all utility providers relocate their lines, the City can bid and begin the construction phase. (Facebook)
- The Montgomery Area Council on Aging office will be closed Thursday, Dec. 30 and Friday, Dec. 31 for the New Year holiday. There will be no Meals on Wheels deliveries for either day. Office hours and hot meals deliveries will resume Monday, Jan. 3. (Facebook)
