Hello again, Montgomery! Important update: You all, as readers, have made the Montgomery Daily so successful that it is my honor to announce the next stage of the newsletter. Here are the top three stories in Montgomery today:
- Montgomery bikers joined together on Saturday to raise funds for Children First, a nonprofit that advocates for children suffering from child abuse. Over 60 bikers attended the first Riders Against Child Abuse charity event. Attendees paid $20 for single riders and double riders paid $25. (WSFA12 News)
- Alabama State University's president, Quinton Ross, has been appointed to the White House advisory board on historically Black colleges and universities. The board works to improve and support historically black institutions and comprises 18 individuals. The current administration has allocated $5.8 billion to support the board's efforts. (Alabama Daily News)
- Saturday was the 18th Annual Autism Crawfish Boil at Montgomery's Riverwalk Stadium. The event was in celebration of April being Autism Awareness Month. A thousand attendees enjoyed over 4,000 pounds of crawfish, corn, potatoes, mushrooms, and Conecuh Sausage. Proceeds benefitted testing and treatments for children with autism. (Alabama News Network)
