🌱 I-65 Reopened + Shooting Death Of 3-Year-Old Boy

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Montgomery.

Hello, people of Montgomery! It's me again, Danielle Fallon, your host of the Montgomery Daily.

First, today's weather:

Sunny. High: 63 Low: 42.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Montgomery:

  1. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency announced that they have cleared and reopened all lanes of Interstate 65 for travelers between Montgomery and Prattville. The lanes were closed on Monday morning due to a collision involving three vehicles near mile marker 174. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, and few details about injuries have been made available to the public. (WSFA12 News)
  2. The Montgomery Police Department reported that a 3-year-old boy was shot and killed on Friday night. The boy has been identified as Ja'Seyon Green, and an investigation is still ongoing. According to a statement from Mayor Steven Reed, the city has been collectively grieving the loss of "innocent life to a senseless act of gun-related violence." (CBS42)
  3. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is urging Montgomery drivers to put emergency contact information right on their driver's licenses. Victims of vehicle collisions likely will not be able to access their cell phones after an accident and first responders may need to contact your loved ones in an emergency situation. With locked cell phones, finding those emergency contact numbers has become a serious issue, so authorities are suggesting drivers write those contact numbers on the backs of our driver's licenses.
