🌱 Two Juveniles Arrested In Armed Robbery + Statue Fines

Here are the top 3 stories today in Montgomery:
- Two juveniles have been taken into custody due to a robbery investigation. The Montgomery Police Department responded to the 100 block of Oleander Drive from a call that claimed there was an armed robbery in progress. Police found the suspect's vehicle and a police chase resulted in the arrest of the two suspects. (WSFA12 News)
- Yesterday, we reported on a store robbery in which police were seeking a suspect. Now, the Montgomery Police Department has arrested a man in connection with the incident. Torey Carnell Huffman, 38, has been charged by police with first-degree robbery from the incident that happened in the 10000 block of Chantilly Parkway. Huffman was alleged to have been stealing outdoor tools while dressed up as a woman. (WSFA12 News)
- A legislative committee has advanced a proposal that would increase the fines imposed upon Montgomery for the removal of confederate statues. The new bill would increase the fine from a one-time $25,000 to a $5,000 fine for every day the statue is missing. Another bill sets a felony charge for anyone who damages a historic monument during a riot. (WRBL.com)
