Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:
- The Montgomery Police Department is conducting an investigation into a shooting that occurred near its downtown headquarters. The incident occurred in the 300 block of North Ripley Street on Tuesday. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound in the 600 block of Madison Avenue and took the man to a local hospital to receive treatment. (Alabama News Network)
- Jerimiah Walker, 17, is free after he posted $500,000 bail. District Judge Monet Gaines granted the bail request for Walker in his capital murder trial. Walker allegedly shot and killed Thomas Hand Jr. in front of Hand's two-year-old child. (WSFA12 News)
- Registration for the YMCA of Greater Montgomery Summer Camp opens this weekend for children aged kindergarten through 8th grade. The program hopes to offer children the opportunity to step into nature while exploring the outdoors. A highly trained and imaginative YMCA staff will coordinate the camp. (WSFA12 News)
