Area Residents Make Marching Band At Jacksonville State

Jacksonville State University announced its 2021 roster for the Marching Southerners, the school's award-winning marching band.

JACKSONVILLE, AL — Jacksonville State University named its 2021 roster for the Marching Southerners, the school's award-winning marching band, and several local students are among those that will take the field when the Gamecocks play their season this spring.

Local residents making the Marching Southerners include:

  • Analia Gonzalez of Trussville; Ballerinas section
  • Garrett Goodwin of Trussville; Percussion section
  • William Goodwin of Trussville; Bari Sax section
  • Bradley Grogan of Trussville; Percussion section
  • Courtney Ray of Pinson; Techs And Staff section

Due to the pandemic, the Ohio Valley Conference moved football season to the spring. JSU was allowed, however, to play four non-conference games in the fall. The Southerners performed at the university's sole home football game on Oct. 10. This spring, they will perform at the three home games on the schedule:
