Arrest Made In Shooting Death Of Center Point Teen
A Birmingham man faces manslaughter charges in the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy in Center Point.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A Birmingham man faces manslaughter charges in the Feb. 4 shooting death of a Center Point teenager. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said Monday that 66-year-old Curtis Williams was arrested over the weekend.
Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said Williams was released on a $30,000 bond, and that the victim and Williams were not directly related.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. Feb. 4 in the 300 block of 19th Court Northeast in Center Point. Money said witnesses reported that an altercation occurred at a family gathering, resulting in a shot fired, striking the 17-year-old victim.
