A judge has approved plans by the Jefferson County Board of Education for construction of a new elementary school and other projects.

PINSON, AL - A judge has approved a capital improvement plan by the Jefferson County Board of Education that includes a new elementary school in the Grayson Valley area and major renovations for Rudd Middle School and Pinson Valley High School.
According to a report by the Trussville Tribune, federal judge Madeline Haikala has approved a request from the Jefferson County Board of Education for a $230 million dollar building program.
Phase I of the plan includes construction of a new elementary school in the Grayson Valley area. The board says this additional school will allow JefCoEd to eliminate the 12-year-old interim Pinson school zone. Phase I also proposes school additions and renovations, including the demolition and remodeling of Erwin Middle School’s (formally Erwin High School) buildings and athletic field as well as Center Point High School and Pinson Valley High School’s athletic fields, and the renovation of Rudd Middle School.
