Middle School Students Chosen For All-State Band

TRUSSVILLE, AL - The Hewitt-Trussville Middle School band finished January with plenty to brag about. Several HTMS students auditioned for the Alabama Middle School All-State Band, and HTMS had the highest number of students chosen from schools in the metro Birmingham area. This is the second year in a row the school has achieved this distinction.

Four students were named to the All-State Band (recognizing the top middle school musicians in the entire state):

• Ian Franzer – 8th Grade Trombone
• Wei Wei Guo – 8th Grade Flute
• Maddie Mann – 8th Grade Oboe
• Jones Preg – 7th Grade Clarinet

Three students named as alternate to the All-State Band:

• Juliana Eberhardt – 8th Grade Clarinet
• Mary Reeves – 8th Grade Baritone
• Thomas Stacks – 8th Grade Trombone

Twenty-seven students were named to the District IV Honor Band (recognizing the top middle school musicians in the metro Birmingham area)"
