Roy Moore's Wife Supports Prayer At HTHS Football Games
The wife of GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore has pledged her support of Trussville Schools' public prayer dutrng high school football games.

TRUSVILLE, AL -U.S. Senate Candidate Roy Moore is not the only person in his family making headlines these days. In addition to some negative press regarding another arrest of his son, Moore's wife, Kayla, has stepped up to defend Trussville City Schools against a complaint by a religious freedom group regarding Christian prayer over the public address system at Hewitt-Trussville High School football games.
Kayla Moore, who heads up the Foundation For Moral Law, has pledged her support for the school system to continue saying a prayer before sporting events over the school's public address system. In a letter to the Trussville City Schools, Moore says, “The Foundation for Moral Law is willing to talk with school officials and school attorneys directly, analyze their policies, and determine what if anything needs to be done to ensure compliance with the Constitution. Please feel free to contact us if we can be of help. That’s what we were formed to do.”
According to the Trussville Tribune, the original complaint was sent via letter to school superintendent Dr. Pattie Neil last week by the Freedom From Religion Foundation. The complaint alleges that the school is using Christian prayer at the school-sponsored event, which is unconstitutional. Specifically, the organization refers to the public address announcer saying, "Father, today we play as two separate teams, but we live as one body of Christ, as your hands and feet. And through it all we play…ultimately to further your kingdom...In Jesus' mighty name we all pray, Amen."

Moore said letters like the one sent by the FFRF are common, and that the organization sends numerous letters to school systems each year demanding they stop any form of religious activities.
Roy Moore, who is running for U.S. Senate against Democratic candidate Doug Jones, has always been outspoken about his faith and his support for open expression of Christian prayer and examples, regardless of the venue. The election is being held December 12.
