Two other juveniles under the age of 18 have also been charged. However, state law prohibits law enforcement from releasing identifying information on suspects under the age of 18.

Griffin was charged with two counts of attempted murder, with his bond set at $120,000 on that charge, while he was also charged with first degree assault and given a $100,000 cash bond on that charge, as well.

Patch reported earlier this week when four suspects were in custody following the shooting in the pool area of The Village at Brook Meadows.

Officers with the Tuscaloosa Police Department initially responded at 4:15 p.m. Monday to a shooting call at the apartments, which are located at 415 Hargrove Road East. The child struck by gunfire suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening and he was airlifted to Birmingham for treatment.

Kennedy explained that some of the suspects fled on foot and some in vehicles. However, the responding TPD units were able to locate a reported suspect vehicle, and stop it, which prompted several occupants to attempt to flee on foot.

"TPD was able to take several suspects into custody from the stop and from searching the area," Kennedy said on Tuesday, before mentioning that none of the suspects arrested are residents of the apartments where the shooting occurred.

The other two adults who have been charged and identified as suspects are:

  • Aamod Tre'Shon Jones, 19. He is charged with three counts of attempted murder, which saw his bond set at $180,000, while the bond for the assault charge was set at $100,000.
  • Tyriek O'Shay Evans, 18. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder, which saw his bond set at $120,000, while the bond for the assault charge was set at $100,000.
