According to the motion filed Thursday, Tuscaloosa defense attorney Jason C. Neff asked the court to allow Holloway to leave Alabama for a brief trip scheduled from Friday, March 27 through Tuesday, March 31.
One condition of Holloway's bond for felony possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp prohibits Holloway from leaving the state while his charges are pending.

District Court Judge Joanne Jannik granted the request on Friday.
The filing states Holloway “is traveling on a trip out of the state” and outlines the specific travel dates but does not specify the nature of the trip, which coincides with Alabama basketball's trip to Chicago for its Sweet 16 matchup against Michigan Friday night.
The motion also notes that the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney’s Office has indicated it opposes the request.
Neff asked the court to grant the motion and permit Holloway to travel despite that opposition.
Patch reported that university officials removed Holloway from campus following his arrest and pending an investigation by the Office of Student Conduct and he is not currently with the team.
No word has been given on when he will have a hearing with the UA Office of Student Conduct.
Holloway's preliminary hearing on the criminal charges is set for April 14 at 9 a.m. at the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
