Arrest Made After Numerous Vehicle Burglaries At Mercedes Plant

An arrest has been announced in connection to multiple vehicle burglaries at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International's in Vance.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — An arrest has been announced in connection to multiple vehicle burglaries at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International's in Vance.

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday said Ja'Leon De'Shawn Patterson has been charged with 11 counts of unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle in connection with the burglaries that occurred on Dec. 12, 2022 and Dec. 20, 2022.

TCSO says it was alerted on Jan. 3 that the suspect's vehicle was spotted in the plant's parking lot.

Vance Police Chief Tommy Graham told Patch officers with his department first detained Patterson until TCSO investigators arrived.

TCSO said another individual was in the vehicle when Patterson was located, but no other arrests were announced relating to the vehicle burglaries.

Patterson was ultimately charged and jailed, with his bond set at $82,500.
