Brookwood Native, Stillman Standout Earns SSAC Pitcher Of The Week
Stillman College pitcher Lexi McCray has earned conference honors after her shutout performance during her debut for the Tigers.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Stillman College junior pitcher Lexi McCray has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Pitcher of the Week for her complete-game shutout in her debut for the Tigers on Jan. 30 over Southeastern Baptist College.

In the season opener, the Brookwood native struck out two and allowed five hits in five innings of work to secure the win.

McCray transferred to Stillman College from the University of West Georgia prior to the 2022 season, but sat out the year. She also previously played at Marion Military Institute.
During her time at MMI, McCray logged seven shutouts.

The honor for McCray marks the fourth time in the last five years that Stillman College earned a Player of the Week or Pitcher of the Week honor following its season opener.
Stillman College (2-0) will return to action against Point University and St. Mary's of the Woods this weekend for noon doubleheaders on both Friday and Saturday, Feb. 10-11.
