Savannah State Provost Yolanda Page Rounds Out Candidates For Next Stillman President
Savannah State Provost Yolanda Page was announced Wednesday as the third in the search for the next president of Stillman College.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Savannah State University Provost Yolanda Page was announced Wednesday as the third and final candidate in the latest round of interviews in the search for the next president of Stillman College.

As Patch previously reported, two other candidates interviewed with college staff and community members on Monday and Tuesday: F. Erik Brooks, who currently serves as the provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Central State University and Denmark Technical College President Willie L. Todd.

In addition to serving as provost at Savannah State, Page has also worked as vice president for academic affairs, dean, assistant dean, department chairperson, and program director during her 29-year higher education career.
She is credited with leading innovative academic and co-curricular initiatives that have boosted the academic profile of each institution at which she has served.

What's more, Page is also responsible for securing or influencing approximately $40 million in private and government funding.
Prior to her time at Savannah State University, Page served as vice president of academic affairs at Dillard University — a prestigious private HBCU regularly ranked among the top 15 HBCUs.
Page said of her time at Dillard that the profile of institution's academic programs increased, in addition to her leading the development of several academic and co-curricular initiatives, including: a masters degree in nursing; a certificate in urban water management; amedical physics concentration; a food studies minor; a pre-health advising program; a Center for Racial Justice; and a nationally recognized pre-law program
In looking further into her other professional roles, Page also served as dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff
Page holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in business management from
Dillard University, along with Master of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy degrees in American and
African American Literature from Louisiana State University (LSU).

The candidates vying to be the next president of Stillman College have been on campus this week to meet with Stillman staff and leadership, along with answering questions from community members.
Interview sessions for Stillman College cabinet members, faculty, staff, students, and alumni will be held in the Warner Presentation Room in the Wynn Center.
Separately, the sessions for Tuscaloosa-area leaders will be held at Hotel Indigo in the Yellowhammer Room.
Each session will also be broadcast via Zoom for those who can't attend in person.
