Tuscaloosa Police: Disagreement Over Woman Prompted Interstate Shooting Monday

In an update Monday after, the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit said Jeffery Nicholas Woods, 22, has been charged with attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle after investigators located him, his vehicle and the suspected fire arm used in the shooting.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Violent Crimes Unit, said the shooting appears to be a disagreement between the two men over a woman.
His bond was set at $30,000 bond for attempted murder and $30,000 for the other felony charge.

As Patch previously reported, TPD responded about 7:30 a.m. to the initial call of the shooting between the 72 and 72 mile markers.
The driver of the vehicle had been shot once and is expected to survive his injuries, Kennedy said.
