The Tuscaloosa Police Department is cautioning the community about a scam caller impersonating a well-known officer.

TPD says the caller is claiming to be Lt. Craig Parker.

The scammer then insists that the person being called or one of their loved ones has outstanding arrest warrants before saying that the call must be returned as soon as possible.

TPD reminds those in the community that it will never call about warrants in this way and advised that if you are in doubt, hang up and call the police department directly.
