The FDA announced the recall, warning that men with certain health conditions are most at risk.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A Bay Area company's chocolate products have been recalled after "life-threatening" ingredients found in drugs such as Viagra and Cialis were detected in the products.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Gear Isle based in Elk Grove issued a voluntary national recall for Gold Lion Aphrodisiac Chocolate Male Enhancement Sachet and ilum Sex Chocolate Male Sexual Enhancement Booster after undeclared ingredients used in drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction were found, including sildenafil and tadalafil.
Gear Isle announced the recall on March 19, and the FDA published the recall announcement on Thursday, warning men who take nitrates for cardiovascular health conditions are most at risk.
