2 Die in Apartment Fire Near International Boulevard

The fire broke out early this morning at the complex.

Two people died in a 2-alarm fire at an East Oakland apartment complex off of International Boulevard early this morning.

At 1:13 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a fire happening in the 6200 block of Eastlawn Street, according to a fire dispatcher.

Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control by about 1:45 a.m. Two people are reported to have died during the blaze, the dispatcher said.

Investigators haven’t determined a cause for the fire, according to the dispatcher. No other information was immediately available.
