ALAMEDA, CA — One person was arrested and a child was taken into protective custody following a carjacking in Alameda on Tuesday, Alameda Police report.
The carjacking happened in the 300 block of Grand Avenue. According to a police post on social media, "During the investigation, Officers were able to identify the person who battered the victim and stole his car. Within three hours, Officers were able to locate the victim's car, arrest the suspect, and take the suspect's daughter into protective custody."
Beneath the post, Phoenix Morgan wrote, "I assisted the victim with a 911 call and calls to his mother since his phone was in the vehicle. What is VERY disturbing is that this happened at 1PM broad daylight in front of the Will C. Wood School parking lot. Im very glad this case was wrapped up. It was very unsettling to walk out to get mail and have a neighbor yell 'call 911 they stole my car and there is a child in it' (thankfully it was not the victims)."
