Alameda Police Recover 41 Stolen Packages

Police recovered the items after searching a local storage facility.

ALAMEDA, CA — Package theft from porches has become such a problem that many people don't even report the crime anymore. But for residents of Alameda and Bay Farm Island, reporting the thefts has helped them get their belongings back.

According to Alameda Police, in early May detectives received video of a suspect stealing packages from residences on Bay Farm Island. "Through extensive work, APD detectives identified the responsible and executed a search warrant at a local storage facility, which led to the arrest of the responsible and recovery of 41 packages," police report in a written release.

Detectives are working to reunited the stolen property with victims.
