ALAMEDA, CA — An arsonist destroyed the play structure at Woodstock Park in Alameda early Saturday. It was the second arson fire reported in the park overnight. There were no injuries.

Firefighters were called to the park in the 300 block of Cypress Avenue around 3:45 a.m. Saturday. They found the play structure fully involved in fire. Both the play structure and surrounding rubberized turf burned, but the 10 firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

This was the second call to the park for firefighters, who put out a trash can fire at 1:51 a.m.
