Deadly Crash: I-880 In Oakland Reopens

The road was closed at 66th for more than 5 hours.

OAKLAND, CA — All southbound lanes of I-880 have reopened in Oakland following a fatal crash this morning involving a FedEx truck and a car, according to the CHP. The road finally reopened at 8:11 a.m., more than 5 hours after the deadly collision.

Information on the driver who was killed has not been released.

According to the CHP log, the crash was reported at 2:53 a.m.

FedEx released a statement that they are "cooperating with local officials as they investigate."

The morning commute was severely impacted, with truck traffic shifted to I-580.
