Team Alameda Second Sunday Slow Ride

Hello everyone!

Team Alameda Second Sunday Slow Ride

The next Slow Ride is scheduled for

Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 9:00 am

Bring your bike to the Kaiser Steps, 2417 Central near Park

We are going to try something quite different this time. The ride will be a bit longer with some ups & downs (Anthony insists they are not hills). When we reach our destination we will take a break to rest and enjoy an amazing view of the bay. This rest stop will give us time to chat and share our favorite bicycling snacks.

Our destination is the Oyster Bay Regional Shoreline

The park is a former land fill in the process of being converted to a fully accessible Regional Park. An astonishing diversity of wildlife can be seen – hawks, shorebirds, jack rabbits, squirrels, rodents, frogs, reptiles, insects and harmless snakes. Not to mention the many grasses, shrubs & trees. It is also the site for converting decomposing garbage to methane.

For more information about the park go to: www.ebparks.org/parks/oyster_bay

Don't let this rainy weather stop you from planning to ride with us. Last month the ride to the Hornet & back was wonderful. The temperature was perfect and the view of the bay was incredible! If it is rainy & wet we won't go.

Remember - helmet, a snack, water & sun block
