Fire Burns Through 2-Story Alameda Home On Christmas Eve
The fire was reported at a home in the 1400 block of Fifth Street.

ALAMEDA, CA -- Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire at an Alameda house on Christmas Eve, Alameda Fire Department officials said Monday. Sunday at 12:37 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a blaze at a home in the 1400 block of Fifth Street.
Firefighters immediately worked to contain the fire at the two-story house as other firefighters searched for occupants. After confirming that the occupants had already evacuated the home, firefighters
were able to extinguish the blaze in about 30 minutes.
No injuries were reported. The house sustained fire damage on the first floor extending up the wall and into the attic as well as smoke and heat damage throughout, according to fire officials.

The fire displaced one adult and the American Red Cross is assisting them, fire officials said.
Fire investigators are working to find out what caused the blaze.
