Girls Walking to School Claim Man Tried to Grab Them, Alameda Police Say

The girls, ages seven and ten, were on the Sheffield Way walking path.

ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda Police are advising residents that two little girls claim that a man tried to grab them as they walked to school Monday morning. The girls ages are seven and ten.

They told police that they were walking on the Sheffield Way walking path when they were approached by a man. He tried to physically grab one of the girls, they say, but they were able to run to a nearby residence. That person called the Alameda Police Department.

The man was described as a white male 20-35 years of age, 5’10” to 6’ tall, short blonde hair, and wearing all black clothing.

Alameda Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit interviewed the girls and detectives examined various physical evidence. So far, detectives have not been able to corroborate an actual kidnapping attempt or gather any additional leads to further the investigation.
