'Jeopardy' Champ Schneider Says She Was Robbed

Amy Schneider, the current "Jeopardy!" champion, said she is all right but missing some belongings after she was robbed in Oakland Sunday.

OAKLAND, CA — Amy Schneider, the current "Jeopardy!" champion, said she was robbed in Oakland Sunday.

The Associated Press reported the robbery was at gunpoint; Oakland Police told the AP they were still investigating the robbery.

Schneider said Tuesday on her Twitter page that the robber took her ID, phone, and credit cards and assured followers and fans she was all right.

"I then couldn't really sleep last night, and have been dragging myself around all day trying to replace everything," she said.

Schneider made history recently as the first transgender contestant to qualify for the "Jeopardy!" Tournament of Champions. She has been champion since Nov. 17, 2021.

Schneider is an Ohio native and is in fourth place in the all-time "Jeopardy!" earnings. She works as an engineering manager.
