Here is the letter in its entirety:

Dear EHS Families,

Since some news outlets started reporting on an issue with one of our teachers, we have received emails asking about the situation. Please know we understand your concern about what has been alleged, and we want you to know we also acknowledge frustration some feel with us not being able to give information. However, both the law and board policy require AUSD to keep details of this situation confidential, and this is done both to protect all parties involved and also to preserve the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

When this incident was reported to Encinal administrators, they took it extremely seriously and immediately reported it to the district staff, as they take the lead on all such investigations and personnel issues. Safety of students, families, and staff is of great importance to all of us, and district staff are now taking steps to address this situation in the ways we are legally required. Again, this is an ongoing investigation, and thus we are legally unable to share further details. We can say at this time that the teacher is on leave and will be not be on campus for remainder of the school year.
