Update: Alameda Murder Victim Was Oakland High School Football Player
The victim was shot Saturday night.

ALAMEDA, CA — A man shot dead outside a bowling alley in Alameda on Saturday night was identified today as an Oakland High School senior.
The Oakland Unified School District identified Antwaun Williams as the teen victim shot and killed just after 9 p.m. in the 300 block of Park Street.
Alameda police said that Williams was found suffering a gunshot wound and was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland, but died there a short time later.

Police Lt. Matthew McMullen said that so far investigators are reviewing extensive surveillance footage from the bowling alley and surrounding homes and businesses trying to piece together what happened.

Friends and family posting on Facebook said that Williams had gone bowling at the AMF Southshore Lanes bowling alley there when he was shot in the parking lot. They said it appeared he was an innocent bystander caught between a fight between other men there at the time.
Williams was a varsity football player at Oakland High School. A small ceremony was held today to remember him, even though school was not in session, according to the school district. His classmates wrote messages on a wall for him.
"He was funny, friendly and full of life," Oakland High School Assistant Principal Shoshanna Towers said.
