Registered Sex Offender Arrested In Alameda: Police
The police department also reports that a minor was rescued, and offers tips on spotting human trafficking.
ALAMEDA, CA — A registered sex offender was arrested by Alameda Police when a routine compliance check discovered the person in the company of a minor, a violation of the person’s parole conditions.
According to a statement from police, "The safety of the minor was prioritized and they were later reunited with family."
The suspect was also in possession of a loaded gun when arrested, police said.

The police department seized this situation to educate Alameda residents about human trafficking, a crime that can hide in plain sight.
According to APD, some indicators that a person may be a victim of human trafficking include:

- Appears malnourished or in poor health.
- Unable to speak for themselves or communicates what appears to be a rehearsed response.
- Unable to make decisions without approval.
- Signs of physical injuries or abuse.
- Avoids eye contact or social interactions.
- Frequently checks into hotels or motels.
- Dramatic personality changes.
- Sexual knowledge beyond what is age appropriate.
- Sudden presence of an older “boyfriend” or “girlfriend.”
- Isolated from friends and family.
- Tattoos or insignias indicative of ownership.
