Suspicious Package Detonated, Peeping Tom, and Possession of a Weapon With Intent to Cause Injury

Monday, April 8

• 9:25 a.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 1700 block of Chestnut Street.
• 11:48 a.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 300 block of Tideway Drive. An unknown suspect broke into the locked car and took personal belongings without permission.
• 1:16 p.m.: Grand theft was reported on the 400 block of Buena Vista Avenue. A suspect removed the victim's laundry from apartment laundry room.
• 12:32 p.m.: Auto theft was reported on the 500 block of Buena Vista Avenue. A suspect broke a driver side window and attempted to steal the car.
• 12:59 p.m.: Grand theft was reported on the 1800 block of Poggi Street. An unknown took a motor-operated maintenance cart and tools from a housing complex without permission and did not return it.
• 2:47 p.m.: Shoplifting was reported on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. A 51-year-old man was cited. He entered a business and concealed merchandise. He exited without paying and was placed under citizen's arrest.
• 7:40 p.m.: A garage burglary was reported on the 100 block of Santa Clara Avenue. A suspect forced open garage door and stole items from inside.

Sunday, April 7

• 11:49 a.m.: A robbery shoplifting was reported at South Shore Center. A loss prevention agent witnessed the arrested person shoplift from Safeway. Upon contact, the arrested punched the loss prevention agent in an attempt to flee.
• 10:39 a.m.: A suspicious package was located on the shoreline. Alameda County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad responded to detonate the package.
• 12:48 p.m.: Identity theft was reported on the 1100 block of Eagle Avenue. A suspect used a victim's debit card number to purchase items in Illinois.
• 6:42 p.m.: A commercial burglary was reported on the 1200 block of Harbor Bay Parkway. An unknown suspect entered the training facility through an open door. The suspect walked upstairs to the second floor offices and removed up to 10 laptop computers. The suspect put the computers into bags and fled the area with the loss.

Saturday, April 6

• 6:59 p.m.: A 29-year-old man was arrested for possession of a weapon with intent to cause injury. He threatened a victim's life during a verbal altercation. The victim took the threats to be credible. When the man's vehicle was located, a handgun could be seen in plain sight. Once the handgun was recovered, it was found to be fully loaded and have an obliterated serial number.

Friday, April 5

• 1:22 p.m.: A burglary vehicle was reported on the 500 block of Willow Street. A suspect broke a car window and took the loss from inside.
• 1:39 p.m.: A robbery was reported on the 2600 block of Broadway. A 20-year-old man was arrested. He approached a victim from behind, displayed a replica firearm and demanded property. The victim resisted and pushed the man. He fled without obtaining any loss.
• 5:52 p.m.: A hit-and-run felony was reported on the 400 block of Park Street. Items submitted into evidence regarding the collision investigation.

Thursday, April 4

• 8 a.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 1200 block of San Antonio Avenue. A suspect forced entry into victim's residence via a basement window. The suspect stole a flat screen television, and fled the scene.
• 11:32 a.m.: A burglary vehicle was reported on the 1400 block of Pacific Avenue. A suspect entered a vehicle by unknown means, conducted a search and took loss.
• 12:18 p.m.: A residential burglary was reported on the 1000 block of Fair Oaks Avenue. An unnown suspect broke into victim's home and stole property belonging to his family and him.
• 6:18 p.m.: A vehicle burglary was reported on the 300 block of Pacific Avenue. Suspect entered a locked vehicle by unknown means and took loss.
• 8:34 p.m.: A garage burglary was reported on the 2200 block of Coral Sea Street. Two suspects walked into victim's open garage and reached into the open window of his vehicle parked inside and stole a GPS and Fastrack unit.
• 7:46 p.m.: A peeping tom was reported on the 300 block of Hollister Avenue. A suspect entered a victim's backyard and looks through the living room window. Suspect fled on foot in unknown direction.
