Teachers, School District Reach Contract Agreement

The new contract must be ratified by union members and approved by the school board.

ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda Unified School District and the teachers union, Alameda Education Association, reached a tentative contract agreement Thursday, the school district announced Friday. The union represents teachers, nurses, speech and language pathologists, and counselors.

According to the district, the one-year agreement includes:

  • salary increase of 4.5%
  • an additional Professional Development day for AEA members
  • creation of an employee longevity compensation for years of service to AUSD

If union members vote to ratify the agreement, the school board will vote on the contract at its Jan. 22 meeting.
