Woman Shot, Killed In BART Station Parking Lot
Investigators are reviewing surveillance video related to the incident.
OAKLAND, CA — A woman was shot and killed Thursday night in the parking lot of the West Oakland BART station.
The shooting occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m.
The woman was shot in the parking lot on the 7th Street side of the station, according to BART officials. She was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

BART officials said it is not known if the victim was a BART rider.

Her name, age and other identifying information have not been released.
The incident caused the closure of the station from about 10:40 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. while emergency crews treated the victim.

During the closure, trains were traveling through the station, but they were not stopping.
BART officials said the suspect in the shooting is still at large.
A description of the suspect was not immediately available.
