WEATHER ALERT: Flash Flood Warning for Burlingame
Rain showers are expected to continue throughout San Mateo County on Friday.
A flash flood warning was issued Thursday morning for San Mateo County, officials said.
The San Mateo County Alert System issued an advisory at 8:15 a.m. stating that a flash flood warning is in effect for:
- South San Francisco
- San Francisco Airport
- Pescadero
- San Mateo
- San Carlos
- San Bruno
- Pacifiica
- Millbrae
- Foster City
- Daly City
- Burlingame
- Belmont
“Do not underestimate the power of flood waters,” the National Weather Service said. “Only a few inches of rapidly flowing water can quickly carry your vehicle.”

Elsewhere in the county, San Francisco International Airport is reporting significant flight delays and cancellations because of a strong storm rolling through town.
County officials warned of a road closure on Mountain Home Road, at Winding Way, in Woodside. because of a large tree that has fallen. There is no estimate as to when it will reopen.

Crystal Springs Road is also closed in both directions between Tartan Trail Road and Woodridge Road in Hillsborough, according to the county.
Showers are expected throughout the Bay Area Thursday, with a chance of thunderstorms. Winds are expected to reach 45 mph and gusts expected to reach 70 mph.
