FREE Heart Screening for 12-25 year olds!
Carlsbad 12 to 25 year olds invited to get a FREE heart screening on Saturday, July 16 at the Carlsbad Senior Center between 9 am & 1pm
In partnership with the Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation, who have screened more than 18,000 young people/athletes for heart abnormalities, LA Galaxy San Diego is proud to not only provide free heart screening for all of its members (aged 12-19), but also open the screening up to all of Carlsbad’s Youth Sport Organizations in an effort to ensure the youth athletes of Carlsbad are screened. Young athletes aged between 12 and 25 years old are welcome to come and get screened.
Heart abnormalities put about 1 in 100 at risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest – a leading cause of death under 25, and the #1 killer of student athletes. Heart screenings are not a part of annual checkups or pre-participation sports physicals, even though most heart conditions have no warning signs or unrecognized symptoms — so please take advantage of this potentially life saving opportunity.
REGISTRATION
Parents (or over 18s) simply register at: https://epsavealife.org/register/registration-carlsbad/ to download a screening packet that you complete and bring to the event. Screenings take less than an hour. Parents need not be present for youth who have a signed and completed screening packet.
