Investigation Underway Following Stabbing Death Of Man In Fallbrook

Two men were arrested in connection with the stabbing after they were found lurking in nearby brush.

FALLBROOK (CNS) - A homicide investigation is underway today after a man was stabbed to death in Fallbrook.

Around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, deputies received a call regarding a man being assaulted in the 5200 block of Mission Road. Once law enforcement arrived on the scene, a man in his 30s was found with a stab wound to his chest, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

The victim, who has not been identified, was rushed to the hospital but died shortly after arrival, according to authorities.

Deputies searched the area of the crime scene and found two men hiding in nearby brush, according to authorities. Police say witness statements and surveillance footage from local businesses in the area confirmed the two men detained were the suspects in this stabbing. One suspect is 28 years old and the other is 38.

It was unclear the motive or if the suspects knew the victim, police said. Anyone with information regarding this stabbing is urged to call the Homicide Unit at 858-285-6330.
