Safest Cities In CA: See Where Carlsbad Ranks

CARLSBAD, CA — Security review website Safewise recently released its ranking of the Safest Cities in California for 2022, and Carlsbad ranked as the 54th safest city in the state.

SafeWise looked at FBI crime statistics for each city in California to compile its eighth annual Safest Cities report. A total of 230 cities met criteria to be considered for ranking.

Danville in Northern California, followed by Rancho Santa Margarita in Orange County and Moorpark in Ventura County, ranked as the top three safest cities in the state for the third consecutive year.

Here's how cities in San Diego County ranked in this year's report:

• No. 23: San Marcos
• No. 27: Santee
• No. 28: Encinitas
• No. 54: Carlsbad
• No. 57: Chula Vista
• No. 59: Vista
• No. 87: La Mesa
• No. 99: San Diego
• No. 110: Escondido
• No. 123: Oceanside
• No. 143: El Cajon
• No. 170: National City

In 2021, Carlsbad ranked as the 59th safest city in California, according to SafeWise. Carlsbad has 116,516 residents.
