San Diego County Sheriff's Department: Homicide Investigation – San Marcos
The Sheriff's Homicide Unit responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation.

On November 17, 2021, just after 7:00 p.m., Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 3800 block of La Rosa Drive in the city of San Marcos. When deputies arrived, they found two adult males who were shot. Fire personnel arrived and started treating both males. One of the males was transported to a local area hospital and is currently in critical condition. Despite lifesaving attempts, the second male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
