San Diego County Sheriff's Department: NCTD Coaster Train Collision

On October 06, 2021, at approximately 4:44 p.m., deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station's Transit Enforcement Unit responded to a report of an Audi sedan that was struck by a northbound North County Transit District (NCTD) Coaster Train near the 1600 block of North Vulcan Avenue in the city of Encinitas. The driver of the vehicle did not appear to sustain any injuries and refused to be evaluated by paramedics. No injuries were reported by NCTD crew or passengers. The Audi sustained moderate damage to its front end. The train sustained minor damage.
