On 10/20/2021, at approximately 1836 hours, deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station's Transit Enforcement Unit responded to a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a northbound North County Transit District (NCTD) Coaster Train. The collision occurred near the 1500 block of North Coast Highway 101 in the city of Encinitas, county of San Diego. Upon arrival, the subject was deceased. Deputies are investigating the incident and manner of death will be determined by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
