Sea Life Aquarium At Legoland California Resort To Reopen June 20

The Sea Life Aquarium in Carlsbad is slated to reopen after shutting down for three months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

CARLSBAD, CA — The Sea Life Aquarium at Legoland California Resort is slated to reopen June 20 after shutting down for three months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Carlsbad-based aquarium, along with the Legoland theme park and water park been closed since mid-March.

"After being closed for months, the more than 4,000 sea animals inside the aquarium built for kids and families are eagerly awaiting visitors," the aquarium said in an announcement.

"It's been an exciting time for the Sea Life family as we've welcomed baby cuttlefish and await the birth of ocean tank baby horn sharks. Guests can explore the 200,000-gallon ocean tank as they walk below sharks, rays, tropical fish and other sea animals and learn about bioluminescent tides at Sea at Night."

Sea Life Aquarium has made temporary changes to comply with guidelines outlined by local and state public health officials amid the pandemic.

The aquarium will adhere to reduced capacity, cashless payments, social distancing practices and enhanced cleaning regimes. All staff members and visitors will be required to wear face coverings.

The San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park are also slated to reopen June 20.
