Adorable Baby Horse Rescued in California, Rides in Backseat [Photos]

The foal is so small it rode in the back seat, cradled next to a volunteer, to a local ranch after its rescue.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — Alameda County Firefighters came to the rescue of a tiny horse Wednesday evening after a local resident found it in a Castro Valley neighborhood on Crow Creek Road. (Click on the photo above to see all six photos.)

According to Alameda County Fire, the little guy "looked scared, dehydrated, lost and weak."

Firefighters lassoed the fella and kept him calm while Animal Control was called. No one was available to respond. Lucky for the hungry foal, a Who Rescues Who/ALTA Vista Equestrian Center representative responded to the scene in just 20 minutes.
